Banco Mo posted a career-best result to date in taking out the Listed Mornington Cup (2400m) three starts ago and has been included in 2015 Ipswich Cup nominations.

Posting 12 wins and a further eleven minors over 33 career starts so far, Banca Mo quickly found form upon resuming in December; running fourth in the Listed Newmarket Handicap (1200m) in Tasmania first-up on December 3rd and working towards a close second in the Listed Tasmania Stakes (1600m).

Having finished in the minors in each of the Group 3 Hobart Cup (2400m) and Group 3 Launceston Cup (2400m) leading into his Mornington Cup triumph, the son of Tough Speed has failed to figure in two starts since arriving in Brisbane but will relish a return to 2150m.

Hi Son has continued to produce competitive results for leading Queensland trainer Tony Gollan this time and has been included in 2015 Ipswich Cup nominations.

Securing a career total of eight wins and a further nine minors through 33 starts so far, Hi Son returned for second in the National Construction Management Handicap (1400m) on March 7th; progressing to fifth in each of the Listed Tails Stakes (1600m) and Group 3 Chairman’s Handicap (2200m) through April.

Having again placed fifth in the Group 3 Premier’s Cup (2020m) most recently, Gollan has been thrilled with the work produced by the five-year-old over the last fortnight and is confident of a return to prime condition in the 2015 Ipswich Cup.

Robert Heathcote is set to be offered a leading chance of success in Saturday’s feature after including Volkhere in 2015 Ipswich Cup nominations.

Posting nine wins and a further eighteen minors through 47 career starts to date, Volkhere finished eleventh in the 2014 edition of the Ipswich Cup but has undoubtedly produced a far-better lead in to the race this campaign.

Running third in the Chairman’s Handicap first-up, the Dehere gelding ran second to Pornichet in the Toowoomba Cup (2150m) on May 2nd before failing to figure late when eighth in the Listed Caloundra Cup (2400m) on May 16th.

Having run a credible fifth in the Group 2 Brisbane Cup (2200m) last weekend, Volkhere appears primed for a return to the winner’s circle on Saturday.

The 2015 Ipswich Cup final field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday.
